OMG! We can’t tell you how excited we were when we found this dresser. We found it on Facebook Marketplace and snatched it up. Then, unfortunately, the seller got back with us to let us know his wife decided to keep it and refinish it herself. We were bummed but totally understood. Fortunately, he kept our information and contacted us when his wife decided she just didn’t have the time for a project. Yay!!! We ran out right away and picked it up before she could change her mind again! Haha!
You know how we usually forget to take a before picture in all the excitement. Luckily we saved the picture from the Facebook posting. Just look at those handles!
Amanda and I were out restocking some of our supplies last weekend. When we came across Lichen by Fusion Mineral Paint. We both thought it was a beautiful neutral color.
When it came time to paint the dresser we decided Lichen would pair perfectly with the newly stained top.
Isn’t it gorgeous?!
We were thrilled we were able to preserve the top. The wood was so beautiful. We stained it with General Finishes Antique Oak water-based stain and sealed it with white wax.
We love the way the white wax settles into all the nooks and crannies.
We lined the solid wood drawers with this beautiful coordinating fabric we found at Hobby Lobby. Here you can also check out the subtle distressing on those beautiful handles.
Here you can see the way the top drawer sits out a little further than the rest of the dresser. Such beautiful attention to detail in these old pieces.
