We couldn’t pass up this little side table with it’s beautiful little legs.
We are pretty sure it’s original use was as a telephone stand. The phone would naturally sit on top and the phone book would go underneath in the little cubby.
We painted this one in our favorite diy chalk paint using Behr Swiss Coffee. To be honest, we’ve tried many of the big name chalk paint lines in white and just haven’t found anything we like as much as our tried and true diy version.
We finished by sanding it super smooth, lightly distressing the edges and sealing with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in flat.
This is such a versatile little table and would look great just about anywhere.
This little lovely will be heading to the booth at Brothers Antiques North later today. It was in really sad shape when we found it. We cleaned it up and added planks to the top for a little more character. It’s painted with our signature white chalk paint, lightly distressed and sealed with clear wax.
We love to add touches of black when decorating. Below are a few pieces we have added to our booth this week. Milk paint gives us that beautiful time worn finish we love so much. Typewriter by Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint is one of our favorites.
When sanded and sealed with hemp oil milk paint has the smoothest, most luxurious finish.
Hello, friends! We feel like we’ve been teasing you with this piece for quite a while. We originally hoped to have it available for St. Patrick’s Day. It must have brought us the luck of the Irish because shortly after we found out we were getting a space at Brothers Antiques North! Since then, we’ve been scrambling to gather items for move-in day on Monday, April 15th. We decided to hold back on selling the dresser and add it to our inventory for opening day. We hope you will stop in and check it out along with many other items we’ve been working on.
We have wanted to do a green piece for so long. As many of you know, we took a quick poll on our Facebook page and many of you loved the green. Yay!
We chose to use Tavern Green by The Old-Fashioned Milk Paint Company. It’s such a fresh, Springy color. We love to use milk paint for these antique pieces, it gives such an authentic timeless finish.
We even got a little bit of chippy! We sanded the paint smooth, lightly distressed the edges and sealed the paint with hemp oil. Finally, we finished by adding white wax to help bring out the details.
New white ceramic knobs were added for a classic modern look.
Look at those beautiful joints! These Knapp joints date the piece from 1870-1900. They just don’t make them like this anymore. Also, we love how the fluted detail on the knobs matches the detail of the joints!
We teased you guys last week about some exciting news and here it is! On April 15th we will officially have a space at Brothers Antiques Northin Medina, Ohio! 🎉🍾🎊 We love this shop and are so excited about this new venture. Only through the support you all have shown us over the past couple years do we have the opportunity and confidence to do this. So thank you! We hope everyone will be patient with us over the coming weeks as we prepare furniture and other goodies for our space. Make sure you stay tuned here, and on our Facebook & Instagram for sneak peeks of everything that is coming 😊 Love, Cheryl, and Amanda
